51СʪÃà has a proud legacy of excellence in the performing arts, and we have now entered an exciting new phase of development as the 51СʪÃà Academy of the Performing Arts. This initiative brings together the College’s pre-existing musical, dance, music and theatre programs under one banner, allowing for clearer direction, strategic growth, and Prep to Year 12 continuity. We celebrate these new additions in 2026.

Ignition Dance
For the first time at 51СʪÃÃ, Primary students have the opportunity to join a dance ensemble. Ignition Dance was launched this year, with an ensemble of fifteen students going through a mini audition phase. Pleasingly, Ignition Dance is being led by three talented Year 11 Arts students, Hannah O, Eleni T and Elizabeth B. These young leaders have been an encouragement to all as they have led Ignition Dance not just in choreography, but also in prayer and mentoring.

Spark Acting
Over thirty students have joined the new theatre initiative, Spark Acting, which provides acting fundamentals, performance opportunities and professional insight for stage and screen to students of Years 7-12 in an encouraging and supportive environment.
The name ‘Spark’ refers to the start of something big, with the intent and desire that our students ‘explode’ with creativity. It alludes to Matthew 5:14-16, light in the darkness. Spark Acting also pays homage to our previous NOVA Arts Company through the theme of ‘light and brightness’.

String Program
2026 has seen the return of the College’s reputable string program. We welcome new tutors, Mrs Mikaela Shingles, Mr Daniel Greig, and Miss Jessica Fouché who will teach strings music tuition and direct ensembles. Additionally, Miss Ella O’Neill (cello) has continued at the College since 2025 and has taken on ensemble direction. The ensembles performance at concerts and College events such as the Easter Assembly for the whole Primary.
